the perspective of this was very unexpected and gives it such a more intimate feel than i have seen in other fics. i can't tell you how glad i am that you gave the characters a chance to work out issues with their respective significant others before you jump straight into the Zutara goodies and drop Mai and Aang like old rags. you did a nice job of making the characters your own, also. please continue soon! i look forward to every update!

Have I mentioned that I've fallen in love with your fic?

I will always wonder how in the world did it take me more than three months to discover this fic. And then I think it would have been torture for me to have waited for the updates and I'm glad, glad to know that there were seven chapters in before I found it.

And counting from the time you started and the last update, it's a relief to know it's being updated at least twice a month. Thank La (to quote Katara from the many fanfics I've read)!

I'm sorry, and I'm not one for Maiko *suppresses urge not to hurl*...but the way you write is just amazing and I'm proud to say it's the first Maiko scene I was able to sit through.

I love the way you built this up that of all things and of all times, when Zuko's world is going insane, Katara comes up to him with (albeit) a seemingly selfish and not a life and death request to add to his already surmounting problem and yet he submits to her plea for help immediately.

The reunion is not at all what she expects. As she departs the Fire Navy vessel, no one is there to greet her, to grasp her in his arms, to kiss her with an overbearing passion, to quietly place a hand over a scar and thank her for his life. There is no screaming crowd, no gossipers spreading acid with their tongues about lost love and adulterers (she’s not married, she’s not married, why should she worry about that?).

Her visage positively glows as she sweeps around one hundred eighty degrees to take in the entirety of that beautiful young child she so loves. Aang scampers to her and she takes him in her arms, caressing the arrow that runs from his neck to his forehead.

As Zutarian as I am, I’m not entirely blind to the fact that Katara does love Ang from the bottom of her heart and that he is a very precious boy to her. She will protect this child whom she sees as her own with the ferocity of a mother bear and you have shown that tenderness and love Katara feels for Ang so eloquently here.

“Katara,” whispers a tired voice. She whips around, completely leaving Aang’s touch, and wears a mildly awestruck face. In the five weeks she hasn’t seen Zuko, he has grown. He looks like the incarnation of the palace, red and regal and so very, very royal. He doesn’t look like the Zuko she water-whipped into submission, or threatened death in case of treachery, or granted long-overdue forgiveness to with an embrace like that of the sun.\
“It’s good to see you again,” he observes. The slight nuance in his voice reminds her—he’s not the Fire Lord, he’s just Zuko.

Ahh…just utterly find this scene endearing.

At the end of the chapters there is a kind of sad haunting and endearing feeling that your writing gives off that and I can’t help but be reeled in.

Really really really amazing. You are hitting upon all the flaws of the canon pairings. (I'm a die hard Zutarian, just in case you can't tell). You're grasp of character psychology is brilliant and I love that you managed to create character interaction over long distances. Plus you are handling the canon issues. I really appreciate the dissolution of the canon relatiionships. It adds that extra zest to the story.

This story is really amazing. It makes me squee like a fangirl (and I don't tend to do that :| ) I'm really enjoying it.

I thought Gran Gran was a little out of character but hey sick people do think crazy things! Still this was a great chapter!
