I love it! Susie's is adorable. And I read the comic where Hobbes started teasing Calvin about sending Susie a card and Calvin turns bright red. I always wondered why did he send her a card and how exactly did Susie feel about him (in general).

Great job, one of the more realistic C&H fanfics, you captured Calvin well here. I don't even care that it's only one chapter. Nice!

I think I actually have that particular edition hanging around in a bookcase somewhere. This is lovely bit of extrapolation of Susie and Calvin's backstory, along with the concomitant emotions. The idea off 'goofing-off' acting as a sort of... salvation or protection, I suppose, isn't a common one, but what's really rare is finding a piece that explores it properly.

Well-written, nothing that stands out as grammatically incorrect, and I doubt I'd find much, or anything at all, even if I really tried. The plot's engrossing enough that I'm not distracted by potential grammar issues, which is unusual for me and also indicative of solid syntax, with no... 'bumps' to disturb my reading pace.

The repetition of the title works for you in this instance, which is a small blessing, but important in its own way. I once read a chaptered fic which repeated the same phrase at the end of each segment over a period of at least fifteen chapters. Not a good strategy. Here, though, you've succeeded in using the trick properly, so, kudos.

At this point in time, I think I've sufficiently assuaged my guilty conscience for not reviewing the first time round, so this is the end. Better late than never, I guess... right, well, good show 'n' keep on updating.

Aw, cute! Calvin and Susie have a love/hate relationship now, but I think he has a bit of a crush on her (not that he'd tell anyone of course.) You need to write a sequel.
