Smaragd1 2009-02-07 . chapter 1Clever and fun. :) Reading these made me smile a lot.Thank you. Some were a stretch, maybe, most of them just great. I enjoyed all of them, but a few I didn't recognize, since we don't have exactly the same original rhymes over here in my country. Translated from the English language, I mean. Hugs from another Snape-aholic.:) |
Musafreen 2009-01-31 . chapter 1Nice one. Beedle the bard should really move over.
Especially loved Hatch-a-snake. Hogwarts students, Go in and stay was unexpectedly...touching. I liked it, and if I knew all the rhymes (which I don't. Wrong side of the globe.), I'm sure I'd have liked it even better. |
 MysticSong1978 2009-01-30 . chapter 1You are hilarious! |
quietus 2009-01-19 . chapter 1 Clever and some are just intensely unsettling. Then again a lot of nursery rhymes are. I did imagine a production done of these by children holding candles just below their faces on an otherwise unlit stage. I'd like to see that. I don't have any favourites. Enjoyed every one. |
 emikae 2009-01-03 . chapter 1this is cute. I like it. a lot. |
countrymouse 2009-01-02 . chapter 1Absolute BRAVO! You win my vote for filking queen with these!
Your sure have done a LOT of research-I can never keep up with what all the different "magical creatures" do.
It does sound exactly like the sort of thing a witch mother would croon to her child (some of the milder ones, anyway-maybe not the one about the snake eating a teacher, but...)
I wish I knew the tune of some of the British nursery rhymnes, that I've never heard of (See-Saw Margary Daw; Goosey Goosey Gander; Boys and Girls, Come Out to Play), but even without the tunes, the verses you wrote are fantastic.
Thanks for such a nice New Year's gift!

Hebi R. 2009-01-02 . chapter 1You are amazing. REALLY amazing. Also? You kind scare me. Really impressive adaptions, though some are a tiny bit of a stretch. Others are as good as the origionals. |
wynnleaf 2009-01-02 . chapter 1What fun to read! And I imagine as much or more fun to write. I especially liked "Sing a Song of Hogwarts", "Mudblood's Slumber" and "One, Two, Stir My Brew". |
excessivelyperky 2009-01-02 . chapter 1Excellent! Like the Hush Little Baby one the best. |
tearsofphoenix 2009-01-02 . chapter 1I'm sure you had a great fun writing these rhymes!
They are very clever and enjoyable, and even if I'm not English I know many of them so I love the way they have turned out after your job: Sing a Song of Hogwarts, This Little Toad and Hogwarts students, Go In and Stay are my favourites.
This is also a further reminder of how much the fame of HP series owes to those who, like you, developed - and are going on finding - new beautiful ways to expand the original story. |
Matt Quinn 2009-01-01 . chapter 1Some of these are really clever. I particularly liked Lavender Brown's poem. |
Majeh 2009-01-01 . chapter 1 Nice, incredibly creative to corrupt nursery rhymes in such a way that they fit the wizarding world created by JK Rowling. Wonderfully sweet and a fairly ingenious idea to make them up. It must have taken you a while to find enough info. to connect the nursery rhymes in such a way and they surprisingly go well. Personally, I enjoyed the "Sing a Song of Hogwarts" myself since it chronicles and summarizes the events of Book I. Continue with your writing and hope you have a happy new year!

It 2009-01-01 . chapter 1 That was incredibly CUTE!
Thank you!
You just made my day! |
DementedLeaf 2009-01-01 . chapter 1Nice :) I like it. Fairly sure "as if she was" should be "as if she were", though (Ducky Ducky Draco)... |
o0morgana0o 2008-12-31 . chapter 1Those are so clever! Well done! If I ever have children I think I'll sing them these nursery rhymes. ^_^ |
