Great insight into Watari's character. )

My new favourite Watari fanfic ever. I love owls in general, and 003 is the cutest little thing. And you've done one of the most beautiful, detailed and BELIEVABLE back-stories for her (and Watari) that I've ever seen. I love how you melded Watari's guilt and sadness over the dying owl with his ability to make his drawings come to life. The fact that he did so unconsciously just made it all the sweeter. And as for the characterisation - I could HEAR Watari in my head, saying and thinking these things. The line "Um... it followed me home; can I keep it, Tatsumi-san?" is an all-time classic. As is the end: "There's a part of me now that has wings." I'm going to read all of your TnM fics right now! This is SO going on my favourites list!

I love Watari-centric stories, and I love 003, and I am thankful to find those well written such as this. Hi, got here via 003's Yami no Matsuei Fic Recs ( ynm. This is wonderful, I always like to see 003 as a real bird as oppose to machine, and yet at the same time capable of understanding Watari, this story manage to achieve both. I like how Watari met 003, how 003 ended up living on permanently in Juuouchou (a real bird would have died, but it's died already), and how it's able to understand Watari because a little bit of Watari went into 003 and vice versa.

It's also lovely how even the warm cheery Watari had problems making friends in the beginning, even when he knew he would eventually, and how 003 changed that, a little wild and a little tame. The last line is lovely.

that was so kawaii! I've always wondered where 003 came from, if this isn't it, it should be! I felt so bad when Watari inadvertently killed the little owl :-( But that was a very good story!

Beautiful metaphors and amazing following of Watari-sama's train of thought. His constant questioning characterization is so natural and well written. You've written an excellent story that evokes many potent emotions. Good job.

... oh goodness. I imagine you probably get 'this is so cute!' reviews a lot on this one. But it really is. I just love the way Watari talks to 003, calls it 'little one' and 'silly' and stuff. Reminds me of a friend who talks to animals the same way. You got how badly he felt for hitting the owl across so _very well_. I felt just _awful_ for him.

Oh, this fic is damned *beautiful*! I adore your explaination on how 003 came to being. The meeting was hilarious, and the stream-of-consciousness way Watari narrated was PERFECT. It's just the Watari fic I've been *looking* for! His thoughts and dialogue truly reflected his inner character, and his emotions are so honest. Priceless: his personal name for Tatsumi as the Secretary From Hell.

And the explaination of his life-giving talents is wonderful - how he puts a little of *himself* into the work. They interaction with the other characters - just, wow. Amazing job! Fantastic!
