You don't know how ABSOLUTELY overjoyed I was to see this in my story alerts! EEK! It's not often a 5 year old story gets a new lease on life. And this chapter was spectacular - I'm really looking forward to Draco doing a 'play'. Are these plays like scenes from portraits? Because you mentioned tableaux. But of course wizard paintings move!

I'm all excited about the next chapter now - please don't make me wait another year! :D

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this previously - I read it a couple of years ago. Jeez, it's a jem of a story. I even checked to see that you still updated on a regular basis on your other works in the hopes that some day you may update this one. I really do love it - and you left us on such a cliff hanger! Ignore the most recent books! Embrace AU from book 3/4 on ;D this is a splendifouris tale... and might I also note that for half of this chapter I was actually *waiting* for Draco to collapse hehe.

You characterisation of Lucius is smooth and consistant. He is cruel, but you shape this with the camparison to his brother. I like your Draco too, angsty, yet not a character who has hopelessly given into his situation and runs away to cry in a corner.

I'd love to see a great fic like this at east get a few more chapters. I search and search for good quality fics and they're far to hard to come by when you want a Malfoy tale with solid structure and characters.

AMAZING! I just finished all four parts thus far and I just BEG you to keep it up! I am totally transfixed! Your grasp of the entire Malfoy family is jsut exquisitely well done!

This is superb. I have been grappling with an understanding and study of Draco for months and this is one of the few fanfictions that seems to capture his ambivalent personality and motives without becoming out of character from the getgo. Please keep writing, and I will keep reading! :)

wow. what a beautiful story. You're writing style is unbelievable and very clear. You have an amazing knack for descriptions of settings and situations - I felt like I was watching the Malfoy's Death Eater party and sitting in the Oak Room with Draco and his father's ghost. your scenes come to life right off the page - very admirable. I can't wait to read the next part! Honestly, I don't normally agree with Draco turns nice (well, nice for him, anyway) fics, but the way you've done it is very acceptable and believable. I liked his line at the end: 'I've got no problem with a bit of good old-fashioned bigotry and hate, but I'm not up for murder.' Very nicely summarized, to let the reader see Malfoy's true boundries. He's not exactly tame, but he's not Voldemort. Or worse - Lucius. Actually, because of your stories I almost wrote the end of my own HP fanfic to turn Draco good, but held back. I just don't think I'm ready... :) Suggestion: Maybe Draco ends up asking Harry for help now that he is destitute and fatherless... Sorry, that was my fluffy-fic nature rearing its ugly head... (reering...?) Anyway, I have been rambling for MORE than enough time, and I'm sure you're VERY tired of me, so I'll go with one last statement: thank you for writing, can't wait to read more!
