I like it. And I especially like that while Vaan keeps character, he's also smart/mature enough to make this work. The insecurity is certainly understandable, but... I recall a friend I had forever ago in a vaguely similar situation to Balthier, and you know, you just stopped noticing it was there, because it just didn't matter. So I like this.

Wow, I can't believe this doesn't have more reviews! I admit, I haven't read much Balthier/Vaan or FFXII fic in general, but this is one of the better fics I've read. Their voices are spot on and I think you managed to capture well the tangle of conflicting emotions and misunderstandings that Balthier's situation could bring about (and frequently a part of relationships in general). I also like the idea that there IS some middle ground between perfectly healthy and dead, because... there really is a huge middle ground there that is somewhat ignored and you managed to touch on it without drowning the story in emo and angst.

In sum, excellent story! I look forward to reading more of your writing.

Fantastic! I've been following each chapter and enjoying the storyline. You portray their speech styles and personalities quite accurately. I would imagine Fran is a difficult one to dialogue and yet you've done a great job. I am glad the boys are finally together again - no thanks to Mr. Fussy Pants... glad Vaan could bully his way back into Balthier's heart. Excellent!

Great story so far, please keep posting often. I am nearing the end of the game and I'm sad that I won't have anymore Balthier... So finding this story is like getting a big piece of chocolate cake. Can't wait to read more.

How could you stop it there? Thats just not nice! And what's wrong with Balthier he certainly isn't afraid of Vaan, is he? I mean he is acting odd! I feel sorry for Vaan, and I hope they two are going to talk this out. At least Fran is normal.

Vaan's story about the princess is funny an maybe Balthier is a little bit jealous? :) Perhaps he thinks Vaan is off the market...
