Ereschkigal 12/8/04 . chapter 1Hi! I really enjoyed this story. It was so funny to read how the little girl behaved _ "Pooh-Bear" *gg* Poor Kurt _
I'm just not sure, what has the title "alles ist verrückt" to do with the story ? Well, it's a little bit crazy, but "alles geht zur Hölle"? hm...Hey, I'm German, perhaps just missed "den springenden Punkt" ...
anyway I really like that story!

Dave Cockrum 1/29/02 . chapter 1 Bravo, Ms. Lites! Here's a story of my favorite X-Man written by my favorite Southern Belle, how could I not like it? Kurt, of course, is the quintissential swashbuckler, ever gallant, ever courageous, ever the soul of honor and honesty. How could he not succor a damsel in distress? And how could he not come out into potential danger when there's an Errol Flynn film festival in the offing?
Liselotte's childlike acceptance of Kurt as a Pooh bear or a Kermit is a very touching scene, and speaks well of a child's ability to accept someone who's different. In other circumstances that might put her in danger, but in this case it was the safest thing she could do.
That Kurt will succeed in finding Liselotte's parents, I have no doubt. What I'm curious about is what happens when the missing parents see their daughter's champion. I suspect there may be hell to pay. You know what they say about good deeds being paid for.
So, full marks, Dannell, I give you a deep bow and a sweep of my plumed hat in salute. Thank you for a very enjoyable story, and I'll put you on the spot by waiting for the sequel. |
Paty Cockrum 1/29/02 . chapter 1 This is a charming piece of fluff...well written, as Dannell always writes, but if fitted into actual X Mdn continuity, with a number of timeline glitches.
The story is obviously a first part of a longer story which will, I hope, take us to the inevitable meeting of Professor X and Kurt...as shown in Giant Sixe XMen #1...which introduced the New X team of Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Thunderbird and Wolverine to the established X mansion.
Allowing for the fact that Marvel's timelines are skewed unbelievably, it still puts the action well in advance of Kermit and company in the US...much less in Germany...where they were probably not known until much later. Phoo Bear is an English children's literary character, and a well to do German child might have concievably heard of him...I am not so sure about Kurt...who is, and according to his creator, my husband, Dave Cockrum, an Errol Flynn afficinado. I do wonder at his possible knowledge of Phoo here, since he is old enough not to read children's books and has, at this time, no known children of his own to whom he can read such things.
The timeline glitches aside, this is a lovely little lead in to a tale of rescue and misunderstanding which will probably end up in Kurt actually beginning the swashbuckling adventure that will become his real life in the X Men and, later, in Excalibur. |
