The Die Hard 12/3/06 . chapter 1
Excellent piece of writing. Tone, timbre, and characterization all down pat. And all too clearly what COULD have happened, if Kal-El had fallen into the hands of any parents less committed to being everything their child needed them to be. Most kids can just be sent to the corner... Surprised none of your other readers, who did identify the Twilight Zone episode it was taken from, had read the original. "It's a GOOD Life" (http:/en. by Jerome Bixby, who also wrote Star Trek's "Mirror, Mirror," was the basis of all horror stories thereafter about well-meaning power out of control. Which is why Superman, the icon of all that we trust, still has the power to scare us at a cellular level. And you put that into words very, very well. Gods, to associate the smell of bacon with the smell of your father and friends...

Great story. I've always thought that Jonathon and Martha were right in teaching Clark such strict ideals of right and wrong. If they hadn't well... look at your story.

This DOES remind me of that one twilight zone episode; was it based on it?

I like how Clark didn't mean to do it at first, I mean if he'd had his powers early on he probably WOULD have had accidents, no matter how well-meaning he was.

Good lord, how horrible. This is more like SuperLex, I think. ;-)

Amazing, I have had ideas about how to raise an invulnerable child, but you have surpassed any of my thoughts. Thankfully in the series, although he was strong as a youth, he was not totally unmanagable. Many of his talents did not appear until his teen years-the time Smallville is now discussing.
Perfect Dark 12/5/01 . chapter 1
BWAHAHAHAH! Thanks! It's good to see a fic where Clark isn't so nicey-nicey. Guess there's a lot of big bare spots in that there cornfield...RIP.

Amazing. Reminds me of that one Twilight Zone episode, the one with the kid that can do anything with his mind. I really like it, and I also like the superbreath thing at the end.
