For some reason I can't help but dislike HP and RW

This was quite the wrap-up!
I LOVED the last section...You conveyed emotion so well.

And Lockhart is fabulous

It's funny how Snape rants about idiocy of everyone, Dumbledore included, around him, thus showing us who the real mastermind is. Unfortunately Snape's cleverness doesn't equal emotional maturity, but that's how he is. Snape was extremely well done and in-character, and his interactions with Dumbledore were brilliantly written.

...I'm surprised Snape didn't snap and kill her, actually!

I love the Lockhart jokes and Alastor thinking he was 'good with kids.'

Although JKR makes Snape a sympathetic villain, a villain is what he is. He's had a troubled youth, yes. He has Dumbledore manipulating him (and everyone else; don't even get me started), but he still lacks any empathy. He never cuts anyone else any slack or thinks about WHY people do what they do, while Dumbledore constantly cuts everyone too much slack. He's a mean miserable man and shouldn't be in charge of children (at least he knows that), and it's annoying hearing him whine about everyone else.
This is an interesting quasi-character study, however.
