Leathe 2009-04-07 . chapter 1Very, very sweet fic. It was just about perfectly balanced between romance and violence/action/lolpeopleblowingup. The idea that Aang and Co will die without having seen true peace/normality attracts me in some morbid way. It's just... right, that their generation has to be the one to suffer and work for the peace. It's more interesting that way.
Also, wedding mid-battle is win. |
satinsilversnowflake 2009-02-20 . chapter 1Omg, I adore this! I love love love Mai and Zuko together and their wedding scenerio was all to fitting. lol The end, though, really did it for me. When Zuko is talking to Iroh . . . it made me cry, it really did. This is one of the best "after" fics. I mean, we all just want to believe that people like Iroh live forever. They just seem so present and unmovable, but no one lasts forever. It's justs so sad. This was such a bittersweet story. Thanks for sharing it. |
Nelja 2009-01-09 . chapter 1I love this fic ; and there are even a lot of things I adore. The epitaph on Iroh's grave made me squee. Also, the ceremonial of wedding. I love how they talk like friends, everyone is in character. My favorite here is Mai, I guess... you got her so well... but everyone, really. Sokka too. Oh, and Ty Lee, putting knives in Mai's wedding dress, and “I wish Azula was still around to see you, too.” then “What did I say?”
That I love less : there are so much things in this fic, fluff, fighting, nostalgia, fun, that some part of it seems to me... I don't know, unfinished. I want to know how Iroh died, who sent the assassins (choosing the day when all his powerful friends are here, I agree with Sokka, they're quite incompetent)... and the fight himself, while full of good lines, had not really the spirit of the series, when each blow counts ; I can't really picture the scene. Well, I have the feeling you did it on purpose, showing that everyone can make a difference, a big number of not-so-good assassins like the bystanders, and it's interesting, but so different of the fights of the series that I don't get the "normal". It's more bitter, for me. Because, well, more innocent bystanders in it.
(Also, Zuko is not helpless at all, even without bending ^^)
But still, the characterization is very good, and the fic too ! |
MoonClaimed 2009-01-06 . chapter 1This was amazing! I absolutely adored it!
You kept them all in character well, and the flow of the story was at a fast but fun pace. I love the image of Zuko and Mai smiling at each other stupidly, covered in dust and dirt, in front of their wedding alter.
And by the way: “We’re being assassinated!”= Best Line EVER. |
