wow. thats really all i can say. the way you have written this story is totally genius. it is a little confusing (or was at first), but i think that if it wasn't it would just be another fanfic. but your style is amazing, and i will definitely keep reading.

This is a very sweet and lovely story, beautifully written. I love the flashbacks but I really really like the way you've written Hope - she's like Kel, but you've made her her own person and a wonderful, fascinating person at that too. Kudos to you and thank you for this wonderful story!

Kel and Lerant's scene was really cute, and lol, Owen naming his kid Willow and Wyldon's disapproval... hehe. Rosemary's a pretty name though.

What a fascinating idea, and it's just so beautifully written, made me think I was exactly in Tortall. You've put in the local culture beautifully.

Oh this is still wonderful, and constantly keeps surprising me in the best ways. I didn't think Hope's meeting with Neal would be so tense, but then it was and I couldn't imagine it any other way.

But "aged?" Neal is aged? He can't be more than 50 no? (although perhaps from the perspective of a young 'un like Hope that is aged...) Or am I unclear on your timeline?

I love the Kel/Lerant in this, and am sort of convinced that he is Hope's father (or is the point of this fic that that asking such a question is missing the point?).

What do I love about this chapter? Little Hope. Kel running up against someone as good at what he does as she is and hating it. Neal being the responsible father. "It's only half an act, after all."

Oh, no fair, no fair. I'm confused by Dom and Lerant. I've been out of the Tamora Pierce loop for too long now, I nearly forgot Lerant.

BUT as I've been out of the loop for so long, as I said, it takes something particularly elegant and well-written to pull me back in. Thank you, and well done. This is amazing. This is past amazing, so much so that I'm too tired to find words at the moment. See you next chapter, hmm?

This story is so sad. When are you going to give it some happiness? I mean I know nothing sad actually happened in this chapter, but you know it will later. Anyway, update soon.

I felt utterly baffled and puzzled because I somehow thought this was the last chapter and after scratching my head for five minutes and trying to make sense of the "ending" realized your fic is still in progress! So. Um, yeah.

I love how you've dealt with complex social realities so far in this fic--gender politics, class difference, legitimacy, etc.--and yet made it so completely and entirely centered on convincing characterization.

I look forward to more. ^_^
