Poor L. He always ends up falling in among the weirdos. Then again, I ain't one to talk. If I'd been the one sitting in a room in an old house at night, reading horror stories and the wind had started sounding like screaming, my response would've been something along the lines of 'Oh. How lovely. Someone's getting tortured. I do hope they let me join in when I've lived a while longer.' And then I go back to reading.

This story's very intriguing, with all its subtle mysteries and hidden history. I can understand why L would be frustrated though. The lack of answers, while seeming to need all this protection, would get rather annoying. But it's so cute, too!
