darkwish3 2009-12-06 . chapter 7Thank you so much for this story :) I can't wait to see what you do next! |
darkwish3 2009-12-01 . chapter 1I just started reading the story and it drew me in right away! It's really good so far. I know you wrote it the way you did to further the story but I was wondering, why didn't you have Harry call 911 {emergency number in the USA)or the local equivalent? |
Ybs 2009-11-29 . chapter 7Well written and very good characterisation of Snape, I really like this story. One point that I really like is that you've kept Harry's spirit intact. Sometimes, it's very depressing when Harry's cowering all the time as a result of long term abuse. While that is the most likely result, I really like how you've kept Harry in character as much as possible in this story. SO good job on that one. Another point that I really like is Snape's reaction to his suspicions about Harry's life with the Dursleys. You've done a good job on making the point that Severus doesn't like child abuse, no matter the child. It was very clear that his own childhood was coming back to the surface and that it didn't matter that it was Harry Potter, it was still a child in an abusive home. I really like that particular point about the story, it lends Snape more character, while not being an OOC, with him suddenly caring for Harry just like that.
I'm going to stop rambling now and hope that you update soon!

Nazgurl 2009-10-05 . chapter 1 Hm...I agree that many of the Dursley-abuse fics are done unrealistically, and only as a convenient plot-device to get Harry in Snape's care. However, victims of abuse, especially of a younger age (like Harry) are not rational. I agree someone would have noticed if he were abused, but it is not far-fetched to say that the reaction might be slow. People often mind their own business, and Dumbledore, the person in charge of Harry, has always looked towards the greater good. Not that he would allow outright abuse, but he did let the boy starve in a cupboard, if you get what I'm saying.
And honestly, I think Harry would have kept quiet about it, even with the "Dudley-example" in front of him. The psychological effect of abuse would cause him to react differently to the situation. He would probably blame himself, and at most, feel a guilt-laced resentment, not outright indignation. |
Lady Lianna Kari 2009-09-20 . chapter 5Poor Severus. No wonder the wound didn't clot. Aspirin is the worse thing to give to a bleeder. Perhaps the fellow in your fiction should learn more about Muggle medicine. Interesting story. Love it. |
remuslives23 2009-09-17 . chapter 7I am still not quite sure what Poppy did that was so wrong. She stopped what appeared to be a fatal application of contraindicated medications to a student. Even Severus didn't recall until much later that the method of administration meant the ingestion would not be harmful. I understand her frustration with Severus, but not really his with her. She was doing her job.
Anyway, I liked the decision to learn more about healing. It seems appropriate for a potions master to have some level of healing skill and knowledge, and handy for when Poppy has a rare day off. |
Lady Memory 2009-09-15 . chapter 7Another nice addition to this story.
I was glad to see Severus talk with Poppy and asking to learn more about "how to cure". It seems a favorable disposition of spirit, that may help translate "health" care to "soul" care, if you understand what I mean (sorry, my English will never be as perfect as yours...).
I am impatient now to see how Severus' new task will develop and how will Harry react when he sees that he has been left in Snape's hands, literally.
And finally, you should put a note for us poor foreign readers: what does TLC mean, exactly? |
ulliander 2009-09-11 . chapter 7wow, I really like this story!
poor Harry, I can understand that he denies the mistreatment, but that won't help him in the end.
But I'm sure you will let him see reason?
I absolutely love the interaction between Severus and Dumbledore, this Mentor relationship warms my heart =)
please update soon!
greetings, Ulli |
