Insomnia? That's new. Too bad in the movie you don't see much of it, but I really like this story so far. It starts off great, no lagging, nothing. Although Malachi going for the 'there won't be one for me nor will there ever' sounds kinda steotyped, it's OK I guess, even the abusive father part. I can handle it. Your fic was one of the first here. Of course I can.

Also, Malachi in the beginning, if this truely was before COTC 1, does not have negative feelings for Isaac until halfway through the movie, not before. If he had negative feelings before, he would have tried to kill Isaac, remember?

The Miriam part was rather foggy. More description could be needed, but not bad for a one-shot. Good job.

Damn it, Jackie. I feel sorry for him. That isn't right. This is Malachai! Anyway, the story is well written, and it fits well with what's happened in the movie. Oh, and besides the book and big hat, Isaac has a squeaky voice! Can't forget about that!
