Barranca 2009-12-20 . chapter 9Isn't it scary how Dumbledore is able to browbeat his colleagues into submission. That wily old man, although I'm afraid he's right and Snape really needed someone like Harry. |

Griffin Raven 2009-12-10 . chapter 9absolutely brilliant story! Despite all Severus's protests to himself he could found somewhere else to leave little Harry instead of taking him to hogwarts if he was the type of man everyone else thinks he is - "the dungeon bat", but he didn't. i think a small part of Severus did want to help Harry, because despite all his gruffness I think he found it nice that a young child felt safe with him. If he'd really been adament and slytherin about it he could have found a way to refuse Albus's request that he become Harry's guardian and blood adopt him, but he didn't. I think that Severus will be able to make sure that little Harry grows up nothing like James Potter was, but more like his mother.
I am eagerly awaiting to read any sequels to this brilliant story! |
ggp 2009-12-09 . chapter 9Hey , thanks a lot for that great story, I really like it! Snape is very well in character. A sequel please :-) you are great! |
 D 2009-12-09 . chapter 1 Hi!
On the shamefully rare occasion I review, I tend to wait until I reach the most current/end chapter before submitting my thought. But after reading your a/n about cliche-ness I had to comment. Yes, this is a well-loved genre, and it's always a guilty delight to paint the Dursleys as the abusers JK effectively implied they were (one word: cupboard)... but this has to be one of the first fics I've read where a Harry suddenly free of them acknowledges that yes, though it is terrible, he'd much prefer the familiar dejection of the Dursleys to the threat of the big bad world.
Well done.
Without making him too self-depreciating and deficient in self-worth, you captured the reality of many abused children: that often it is better the devil they know and they are not about to speak up for fear of the consequences. And that, I must say, was really rather refreshing to set eyes upon. I look forward to reading on... |
