Dang, I read this ages ago and *swore* I rated it. Oh, well. Again, my normal praise for your *wonderful* writing ensues! This was a sad, poignant story that starred my two favorite DC characters. There is just something so... powerful about a well-written 'goodbye' story. (Bonus points for not killing either of them!) As much as I hate to allude to songs, Madonna got it right. The power of goodbyes is an astoundingly human thing. You did it *well*, and the interaction between Babs, Dick and Jason was scarilly (not a word, I know) canny and all the more haunting with the knowledge of what comes after. It made me cry. THANK YOU.
