I´ve just finished reading this one-shot on NS and loved it. You´ve made a perfect description of Chloe´s complacency in Season 8, and the parallelisms between her and Lex are shown in a realistic way.Awesome job.

One possibility in the Smallville Universe that I have never ever seen touched on. Chloe's self punishment is heartbreaking.

Her thoughts on Clark's actions> Because (lex) killed Davis when Clark wouldn't, or couldn't, or just ** loved himself too much to take a human life.>And for the first time she lets herself think about Davis, not the sweet paramedic, not the intense stranger who'd been connected to her from the moment they met, but all of him the gentle and the monstrous, the light and the dark.
