Love this story, love how it's written! The portrayal of Bender is amazing coz even though you have kept to the type of person that is shown in the film, you've also shown a different & perhaps a little emotional part to him as well & I like that. :)

I think u did a great job with this . I think u really were able to make john the sweetheart yet jerk that he is at the same time . I cant seem to make him enought of a jerk . Please keep writing I want to know what happens next :)

Very different from other stuff i've read, but really really well done anyway ^^ i really enjoyed Claire / john relationship, and your choice to make Vernon different , and thus interesting . You really managed to make something new... i can't wait to see what's next ! pleassee update soon !

i love it, especially your way of changing Vernon's character. It is an interesting view on what could happen and i hope you update again soon.

To me it does feel a bit out of character. I miss John's sarcasm and wit - though you might say that this isn't a situation to be witty - but it is what defines him most and if you leave it out it's not really him any more.

And I also think that John's family might not be all that bad. Many authors seem to tend to overdraw in that respect. I'm not saying that there aren't cases of such massive abuse out there; I just don't think it really matches with John’s fairly healthy overall appearance and his well developed self-confidence.

And: his father being a boozer always is a pretty clichéd, shallow and short-sighted reason for the assault.

That quote really shows a lot.
The fact that he's angry that an adult cares for him, shows how scarred he really is, and I don't mean physically. He doesn't seem to have trouble excepting care from his friends and girlfriend, though.
I really do like this story. Keep up the great work.

I really like how your showing a side of the characters the movie didn't show, just make sure you don't change them too much! i like it, i'm going to read chpt 4 now. =]
