spiritstallion 10/7/04 . chapter 2Are you planing on doing more chapters to this story? It's really good so far! |
MOOOOOO.points to cow 8/1/04 . chapter 2 I am really glad you wrote this story, I think the movies and the books didn't have Aragorn be sad enough. I think it was brilliant and I loved it. |
Earelwen 3/23/04 . chapter 2I like the idea behind this fic. It's true Frodo is the only fellowship member that really gets down to some good mourning for poor ol Gandi and it's about time Aragorn did some good old fashioned crying (get in touch with his sensitive side and all ;0 I am not sure he would have reacted in quite this way though. I think he would have been sad and wept but the suicide bit was just a little bit over the top even for the Drama Queen of Gondor. Let me just add that I am really into all the dark angsty stuff so i am not objecting to sucide fics in themselves though I'm not sure it fitted here with Aragorn. Also Aragorn would never have snapped at Legolas quite like that I'm sure. You just don't talk like that to a Prince whose daddy could wage war on you at a moments notice with a load of hot archer dudes (fan girls: drool!)
Anyway good fic despite the little bit of OOC! I'll keep my eyes peeled for more of your stuff. Thank and keep writing. The only way any of us will ever improve (well that and re-reading LotR for the umteepth time cough cough)
God bless x |
Cassandra30 9/18/03 . chapter 1I think he would have been that down but handle it it a sightly different way.
Excellent story |
Vampire-Jesse 4/24/02 . chapter 2Very well written, I really like your style! And the idea is very good as well, for Estel will be the one who grieves most for old friends, even if he would never show it openly... |
Caeyle 12/17/01 . chapter 2I thin that's exactly how Aragorn felt, except I don't think he would go as far as thinking of commiting suicide- he still had many things left for him in life. Still, it was good, you can capture emotions well. |
Dwimordene 12/11/01 . chapter 2 Hmmm... Let me preface this by saying that I really like dark and heart-wrenching, so the idea of someone committing suicide (or thinking about it) doesn't bother me so much, even if it is Aragorn. However, I was a bit confused by the timeline here. I assumed initially that you began this chapter the night that the horses were driven off... and then suddenly you have Gandalf making his appearance in Saruman's stead. That just totally threw me for a loop, because the first chapter seemed as though it was trying to fit within the canon timeline whilst elaborating on certain characters' feelings. If there was some way to clue the reader in as to when exactly this is occuring, it'd be smoother, I think. The other thing that jumped out at me was the suddenness of the transition: Aragorn's on watch (or rather, using his watch to tink about committing suicide, the opportunistic wretch! and then Gimli (?) startles him out of his reverie? It's just not clear to me how all the bits fit together here. |
Mel 12/11/01 . chapter 2 Suicide! Sometimes I despair. Then I consider the writing style and think that maybe there is some hope for you after all. Sweet and well written as usual. |
Tyraa Rane 12/8/01 . chapter 1*sniffle* That was sad. Very, very sad, and very appropriate for Aragorn. He never would have showed his grief in front of his friends...but in private...*sigh* Those last few lines were very appropriate, too. I'm glad to see Gandalf's fall get the respect and emotion it deserves, without overloading it with angst. *nod* I hope to see that second chapter up soon! |
Sternenlicht 12/4/01 . chapter 1 Absolutely well done! I also think that this story waited to be written. You chose a good way doing it. Keep on, Im waiting for chapter two! |
 Tatsutahime 12/2/01 . chapter 1this is a great story! |
Mainecoon too lazy to sign in 12/2/01 . chapter 1 It seemed startling to me, also, that there was not a great deal of emotional response to Gandalf's death after the Fellowship left Moria. Good fic. I don't usually read fics about characters who are not hobbits, but I think this is a story that was waiting to be written, and an idea that you or somebody else ought to elaborate on further. Bravo! |
