Reviews for: In A Glass Darkly
TripOverFlatSurfaces 4/13/11 . chapter 1
This was actually pretty insightful into the entire Princess Tutu series. Although Mytho was never really one of my favorite characters... I dunno, he was just kind of superficial, you know? Not with depth the way Rue, Ahiru, and Fakir did. But favorite characters aside, In a Glass Darkly was great. You seem to have a gift for this type of stuff. :3

Haha. No Way! RobinRocks writes princess tutu fanfics too? You're my new favorite person. You got all my fandoms down. I did a double take when I saw the author. Definitely not as epic as Poison Apple but it definitely has your flair! Can't wait for the updates for your new stories...I'll be impatiently waiting (what? Authors have lives of their own? How dare they!)

That was good. I loved Mytho's interaction with Drosselmeyer at the end!

First thing I thought when I saw you had put this up was, and I quote,"ASSHOLE!
Then I read it and really enjoyed it. Thanks for that!
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY AutumnDynasty!

Wow. This whole thing was breathtaking! It was an interesting and new portrayal of Mytho's and Drosselmeyer's relationship! Great job!

Princess Tutu... I was thinking about it yesterday (because I just got a reversible Mytho/Tutu poster) Gah, love it so.

That's such a harsh way to look at the characters! T_T. True, but harsh. It is interesting though, that Mytho was the most obedient, and finally, happiest character in the series. I like how it was from Drosselmeyer's point of view, the way he treated the other characters so harshly... didn't write them to live up to the prince... maybe that's the point? He loved Mytho so much that writing a character that he would actually have to compete against might've created feelings or thoughts Drosselmeyer didn't want in the mix.

Sorry, my reviews always seem to go off on tangents...

Um, the interaction between Mytho and Drosselmeyer was interesting, Drosselmeyer seemed exactly as he would, but Mytho seemed almost cheeky, but he was always, even after he got his feelings back, bland and soft. I hate to think he was dull, but it appears that way in the anime. And now for the obligatory“How kind of you.” The prince replaced his sword and stepped past him. “But Drosselmeyer…” He glanced back at the old man, looking at him over his shoulder. “…I’ll dance no more for you.
Drosselmeyer only looked up with a wicked grin.“Ah,” he said, “but others will.
Those are just the best lines ever.

Yours, Olynara

That was so original, I loved it! (And I finally got some FakirMytho, of sorts xD
You're really good at seeing things from different angle like how Mytho was the only character who did what he was supposed to. When this is a story where most of the characters seem to show their strength by doing the opposite, I guess that makes him weak?

Gah, now I want to watch the series again

Oh wow, that was spectacular.

I love Mytho-centric fics, because they're so rare and they tend to be well-written. Your portrayal of Mytho is really nothing short of amazing; his declaration "I'll dance no more for you." made me cheer. xD

Great job!

Thank you so much! Aww...a brilliant set of vignettes! I love you! This review may not be coherent. I'm tired and stressed about tomorrow's exam. But I will try because I'm so so glad you wrote me some Princess Tutu fic!

It's so rare to see something about Drosselmeyer, I was really happy to see it! Especially seeing his views on characters other than Ahiru. It's funny that Drosselmeyer thinks Mytho's the perfectly written one when he is perhaps the most 2D character of the whole series (except himself?). An interesting parallel. I do love the interaction of Seigfreid and Drosselmeyer at the end...I wonder what a conversation between them would have been like... Something like this, I imagine!

In short, a very much appreciated and well written fic. Hard to write anything long about Tutu, isn't it? Love love love! Thank you!
