Ooh, I just found this story and I really like it so far. I've always thought the dynamic between Jack and Tony was one of the most interesting on the show and I think you captured it perfectly. To anyone else, Tony could say "you haven't been through what I've been through so you can't judge". But he can't say that to Jack and he knows that, and that's why even though he would never admit it he cares how Jack judges him for the things he's done. I think you captured that perfectly when you wrote this: "He feared Jack would lose faith in him even as they reconciled. But he could hardly bear to lie to one of the few people he ever trusted."
