This is a pretty good story but I found it hard to read with all the underlining. Also, since I'm a big fan of Caje, it's hard to stay interested in a story that doesn't include him. But at least he got mentioned! LOL

Liked your story especially the new take on why Saunders "lost" his stripes. I'd never thought about the fact that it could be just the opposite as you've stated--that he wanted to be demoted from Lt. Actually your explanation makes MORE sense than trying to figure Saunders as a hot head which was never the case--at least in the Vic Morrow portrayal of Saunders.
