Joe Stoppinghem 2009-11-08 . chapter 6Thanks for the story, it was an enjoyable read.
Even if Yori didn't end up with Ron. ;)
I'll check out your other works down the road.
Again thanks for the time and effort you've put into this. |
Joe Stoppinghem 2009-11-08 . chapter 4Your story is touching because I want Bonnie to drop Ron so he can be with Yori. That's the sign of great writing.
Nice vision of Ron with Sensei and working through his issues.
Moving on to the next chapter.
Thanks |
acosta perez jose ramiro 2009-11-07 . chapter 6Great job! Excellent fight scenes and dialogues, and Ron's journey is perfectly developed.
Heh, Ron using a Kenshin-like sword. Nice.
Keep the good writing. |
Slyrr 2009-11-07 . chapter 6The story was about Ron, so it's good that it ended from his perspective. I might have liked to see some more of Kim's concern over him, but that would have blunted the Ron angle somehow, I think. Ron's parents, given their TV series use, are almost non-entities in the KP universe. They don't do much, and when they do something, it seems muted and invisible simply because that's how they kind of are. So I liked reading about them and their concerns, just because that's how a real parent would probably react to this whole business (unless they're the kind who push their kids to be ninja).
Having Ron's pop deliver the speech was the best way to go - I don't recall Ron's mom ever having any serious input in the series, so any writing for her might have been awkward. At least Ron's dad had the Mather episode to his credit.
A cool idea if Ron wanted to keep the blade 'secret' (due to swords not being Kim's style, as you said) would be to turn it into a bracer, a necklace or some such thing. (hey, it can be anything, right?)
Looking forward to more : ) |
Kothoga 2009-11-07 . chapter 6Awesome work on this chapter mate It really shows that Ron's parents should re-think about going on the missions with Kim and Shego, loved the scene with Ron and his dad little talk. sad thing that the story is over, but everything must have to end some time and you really ended this story very well :D
Didn't spot any spelling errors this time :D
and may the break be good for you :D
and its nice that Ron finally gets a mission wear of his own, sad that they didn't give him one in season 4 of the show, could have been something similar to Kim's new mission wear. |
 Comet Moon 2009-11-07 . chapter 6Nice
RS:BAN
Ban could be his nickname
Look forward to more

Deaku 2009-11-07 . chapter 6A satisfying conclusion to an excellent story |
Invader Johnny 2009-11-06 . chapter 6Yup, Ron finaly won the title of "ninja" good for him!
Invader Johnny Signing Off. |
LeoLupin 2009-11-06 . chapter 6I thought that Ron's scars sounded a little like Kenshins, so the reverse blade katana is a perfect match. |
 It's Joyce and Walky 2009-10-31 . chapter 5Wiigii!
Another chapter!
For the love of The Cheese man, it took you long enough! But it's here now so I shouldn't complain. And it was great. Well, I'm going to sleep now. Reading twelve years worth of the webcomic series It's Walky! in a week has left me VERY tired.
Act with integrity. No regrets. |
acosta perez jose ramiro 2009-10-30 . chapter 3Pretty cool story. Excellent job with all the characters.
Keep the good writing. |
Slyrr 2009-10-30 . chapter 5I enjoyed Fukishimu's return. I always thought he disappeared rather quietly from the TV show, given that he betrayed a school of NINJAS! Plus with his contempt for Ron, it made just as much sense for him to be one of Ron's enemies as Monkey Fist was. Also nice to see he got himself a posse. It seemed credible to me - ninja factions always have rivals in stories and such. Plus there a probably a number of people who were rejected or thrown out of Yamanouchi for whatever reason. Makes total sense they'd gang up and launch an 'oh yeah, we'll show THEM' plot. And also good to know Fukishimu has himself a babe : )
The sword fights turned out pretty good all things considered. It didn't seem over-long or over-awkward, and the points about varying fight styles seemed to make sense. I bet using two swords takes a lot of exercise and practice. Even one sword gets heavy after a few strokes (if you're out of shape).
The only point I 'wondered' about was why Ron couldn't use the Lotus Blade right away. I understand he needed an 'I must save so and so' type pathos to trigger real need, but given the sitch, I think the need was there the first time. That's just me though :)
MF's tauntings were cruel, but in character as far as I can tell - it seemed just the sort of thing he'd say. Maybe the monkey ninjas would have won if they started flinging... stuff at Shego. Did the 'Yono' events take place in the MI world yet? That might have been a good tie-in - he could have been looking for the scrolls that he was looking for in the Oh No Yono episode in THIS universe too... And as always, good to see him get his comeuppance. The couple's double-punch was a nice touch, even if they aren't a 'couple' in MI.
The reunion scene w/Bonnie was also worth waiting for. I guess they make a good match now. Bonnie, who won't shut up, and Ron, who can't vocalize anymore. I fancy she'll talk enough for both of them... ; )
Good luck on your new ventures. Hope some more good ideas take root for future KP stories too - something more K/R'ish... ; ) |
Mahler Avatar 2009-10-30 . chapter 5This was a satisfying end to a great story, and well worth the wait. Pairings aside, you fleshed out the characters well with enough drama and emotion to hold my attention throughout. The fight scenes were done extremely well and seemed very believable, and Ron finally wins the day by overcoming the spectres of his past.
The only thing that really left me wanting more was the resolution of both the Fukushima/Ryoko battle and that of Monkey Fist. Although our heroes all won, the resolution of the both the very intense battles and emotional conflicts left me with a bit of an anticlimactic feeling. I felt you let the villains off way too easy considering the hell our heroes had to endure throughout the story. Call me bloodthirsty, but I really wanted to see Ryoko dispatched by Yori. After losing Ron, I felt she at least deserved that victory, or at least Fukushima/Ryoko captured and brought to justice. But that does leave the door open for a sequel, right?
Kim and Ron both punching Monkey Fist's lights out was funny, but again, after the intensity of battle where Kim comes within a hair's bredth of losing her life, and the fact that Ron will never speak again thanks to Monkey Fist, made me wish that Ron could have slain him with the Lotus Blade in an act of poetic justice. But that's just my own opinion, and certainly doesn't take anything away from your excellent drama.
The Shego bits were also in character, and I just had to laugh at their little bet at the end.
And I'll just have to give Kim, Ron and Yori a little poetic justice fulfillment in my current story . . .
Well done.

Kyuubi-Titan 2009-10-30 . chapter 5Well the sword fights were really cool and easily visualized. I hope there are more instalments to this series. |
Kothoga 2009-10-30 . chapter 5Oh man mate...I frickin love this chapter, especially at the end when Bonnie literally dragged Ron to her room for some "playtime" :D although I found 2 spelling errors no big those I could live with :D
and nice work on Shego with her not giving away that she too missed Ron, and damn it was frickin awesome that Kim and she had a bet on how long Bonnie would drag Ron away for some very much needed "playtime" :D I bet they played all night long |
