Maybe Phil isn't actually "dead," just a phase suit allowing him to slip about as a "ghost." A little 22nd Century wonder that makes me wonder why Pim never took advantage of it. Oh, the mischief Miss Diffy would have concocted! The pheely presented thus far is wonderfully lighthearted, a sharp contrast to the morbid situation our favorite couple seems to stuck with. The comedic relief provided by the twins is delightful, and I see Keely is still called "Ms. Teslow," so perhaps we'll be treated to more home sweet home conflicts.

And what is it about Keely always finding Phil in the girls' bathroom? :D

Overall, a clean first chapter. Just run it through the spell checker to catch the odd oops, such as "license," "disown" and the title: "Closer THAN They Appear."
