I have no idea why it took so long for me to read this story after all I love all your other stuff so much, I'm happy to say this lived up to my expectations. One of my fav stories this. I still re-read it sometimes. Thanks a bunch for still leaving it up!

Interesting concept, but I really don't see how ranma could possibly even vaguely stand up against the power of a ki-user. ESPECIALLY one as powerful as Cologne or Happosai, but even lesser threats such as neo-ranma should be far beyond him. Incredible skill with a sword is great, but without ki-strength backing it up, any of the decent martial artists of the ranma world could block his sword with their fists, and the sword would be the one to shatter. I doubt he could do more than give minor cuts even with blows that were unblocked and had all his strength behind them. and there is no way he could keep up with their speed...being 'economical' with your motions is nice and all, but when someone can throw hundreds of punches PER SECOND, simple human capabilities cannot keep up. Skill becomes totally irrelevant at that speed. He might be able to predict the blow is coming...but he can't move his sword more than an inch or so before the blow has already hit him. And with ki-enhanced strength, a single blow will outright kill an unreinforced person. So no, this just doesn't work. thousands of years of experience with a sword just doesn't help enough when faced with the supernatural power of ranma-martial artists any more than batman can beat up superman(without kryptonite). Greater skill helps, but sometimes pure power is just more than enough to overwhelm it.

Also, if he is as crazy about winning as you describe, why on earth WOULDN'T he want to learn ki-techniques? Cologne has a point. With his skill and decent abilities with ki manipulation, he would be almost literally unstoppable. I can't see him NOT wanting that kind of power. I suppose not wanting him that powerful is your reason for having him turn down that sort of training, but it doesn't really make any sense...

Jadeite, he has some stress issues to work out, is in 'prison' so Beryl won't go looking for him, and approximately 37 second (with a 5 second quote of "I love the smell of burning simulacrum in the morning").

I really like the unique dynamic introduced in chapter 7. Huh, the Dark Kingdom really does deserve a break. There should be more stories like this...and the lack of KI is just plain neat/unique.

Great story, I really hope that you continue it some day. I think it would be hilarious to see Ranma take Voldemort's head with his sword, or maybe Jadeite just blasting him to pieces.

Really like this story, and would love to see it updated again, if only so I can see what else you might cross it with.

And, Hmmmm... I'd say Zoicite for Death Muncher/Voldiwart duty, if only because he doesn't seem to be actually doing much but have continuous kinky sex as of yet. And... I'd say said incompetent Dork Lord and his even more useless minions would last a week, tops. A very short week.

I really like how you make the Dark Kingdom a bit more real, giving reasons and their viewpoint, rather then just tacking them as a generic evil...generic 'evils' just bother me. Ranma makes an excellent General and it was cool to see him without using KI...I've never seen another story in which he doesn't use it...

I suggest that you have all of the generals on it for expediency's sake but keep the ambassadorial one from England itself to be the friendly public face and have Ranma be the one to find out about the horcruxes and discover that because of the prophecy, Harry Potter must somehow be involved in FearOfDeath's execution. -jwb-
