Oh, nothing is sadder than to believe love of any kind is wasted. Although this is short, is asks a lot of difficult questions, like is anyone better off after Jack made that very difficult choice? It's an interesting point you raise that Will most likely did not want that kind of life, but instead a normal one. The movie makes it very vague how this changes Will and Jack's relationship since they don't even have any interaction after the scene where he stabs the heart. You've brilliantly showed the ambivalence he still feels towards Elizabeth, although love does outweigh this whole not wanting to want her nonsense. There is nothing she can do to free Will, faithful or not, so I never understood why she shouldn't give someone else a chance at her heart. It would be best for her and Will both to move on. Don't worry, Jack. She'll come back to you. You guys can't stay away each other.

AWW! poor jack! i really am a fan of will turner and her together but i read this anyway and it was really good! poor jack! i really liked it! you showed his personality really well and you showed the emotions very well. i can almost imagine it. great job! :)

This is a beautiful fic! So sad... but luckily there is also that shadow of hope at the end :]

This was, in the simplest of terms, amazing. It was so well written. I believe it opened a door to the other side of Jack. I have yet to see a side quite like it in Mr. Sparrow :) It is truly, absolutely and completely a work of art.
