THAT was very good. Very very good. The plot was good, writing good, grammar was wonderful and the emotion was there- just enough to enjoy but not enough to make it angst-y or clichéd.

This is an incredibly well-written one shot! Kaname and Yuuki are both very in character. You decribed their feelings and thoughts very well! And the little, cute details about Kaname trying to hide his vulnerability and happiness that yuuki is with him, caring for him are just so vivid and real! This one-shot will definitely be one of my VP fanfic favourites! I really hope you'd write more of these fluffy KxY moments in the future! Keep up the good work! :)

This story is utterly amazing, they both are so very in character. I adore how you put Yuuki as the care taker, the one who tells him when it's too much and when to slow down. He needs that so much.

I love the line umm...*finds it* "It was like coming home. It was like discovering you still had a home when you thought all had been lost, sold and taken away long ago. Her closeness filled his heart, like a part of him that had been broken and lost for so long had finally been returned."

That is always how I imagined Kaname would feel when it finally happened for him. Just the overwhelming warmth and love that he's always desired. Like everything that he's gone through is all worth it to finally have her connected to him, and you explained it with that part beautifully. Kudos!

Kaname's "weak, hazy adoration" as he lets Yuuki handle him and do just anything while he just happily basks in her presence...gyah~! It's just so utterly adorable! X3

You touched so wonderfully well the point of his happiness depending so utterly on her and on whatever she said/does/decides. :D

And the theme of him having had to be invulnerable for them both all this time is so wonderful and so true!

Not to mention that Kaname's reactions throughout the fic are so utterly wonderful too! X3 *delights in every little detail of him being so exhausted and hurting and yet pushing himself farther to take her somewhere safe and all.
His shame when he finally had to stop was absolutely perfect, and such a delight because it's SO him!! X3 And of course, Yuuki wouldn't be disgusted of that little weakness, even if poor Kaname of course was. *loved that Yuuki held him and comforted him* (and even helped him move to the back seat, much to his chagrin. XD XD *lol*)
I just LOVE how even the slightest contact from her makes him melt. When she touches him and he melts into the contact I crawl up the walls in fangirly happiness at how cute it is! XD XD


I also like to imagine that he stayed nearby during the events of VK46. Possibly even saw it all. ^^; *has plot bunnies on that too* XD;

The way he was worried about how much she might have given, and not wanting to drink from her to not further weaken her was lovely too. X3

And of course, him curling up next to her and then the adorable reaction to her coat sent me into throes of fangirly delight!! XD XD *melts completely at how adorable he can be* XD XD

It was so bittersweet in a way that made me almost want to cry and smile. The way Yuuki noticed Kaname's pain and the way she MADE him let her help him was the sweetest thing ever. And all of their feelings towards each other were completely plausible and IC.

Kaname curled and sleeping on the front seat just sounds SO adorable. *squee*

And the whole blood sucking scene was AMAZING. I basically melted.

The last line about being invulnerable was genius. It was just so perfect and so true. Yuuki's character is far too selfless to let him continue to protect her. It was a great one-shot. Well done!

Something a little closer to canon VK from you, dear - at least for now :D Of course Yuuki would think of Zero and she’s instantly likeable when it’s obvious that his suffering and his unrequited love for her affects her deeply. *still hoping for the three of them to somehow end up together and happily*

Poor Kaname, such a grevious injury he’s suffering - and by Zero! *inner KxZ fangirl weeps disconsolately* yet always hiding (or trying to hide, poor dear) it from Yuuki. I liked how he almost automatically tried to hide his weak state from her, not because he distrusted her or anything but only to stop her from worrying about him. Yes, she’s always had people protecting her back in her human years – of course Cross and Zero would have died for her, so would Kaname! Lucky girl!

Wow, when you put it like that (most of it was there in the manga, guess we were so overwhelmed with the recent happenings and too happily drooling over the gorgeous artwork of Matsuri-sensei to really see it), guess we needed you (and other great authors like somewhere-there) to let us know the immense toil and stress Kaname had gone through so recently!

The touch of compassion that Kaname has for Zero is wonderful too! *inner KxZ fangirl is stopped from thoughts of near suicide* But how like Kaname too, to always push himself more than others would, to hold himself accountable even when he was exhausted, injured and in pain *wants to hug him badly* LOL, it’s a good thing everyone’s so optimistic about his hand growing back, I want it to, too!

Well, Yuuki’s definitely changed – issuing commands and to her onnisan of all people! *wide eyed* Oh, Kaname as if Yuuki, your gentle princess, could ever be disgusted with you, (well, she might if you’d killed Zero… *chuckles feebly*) but not for that weakness that was completely justified – I mean anyone else would have been a vegetable/basket case by now!

I must say, this Yuuki I like - how she put Kaname’s fears to rest and how she asserted herself in wanting to see his wound *sighs* Can totally see her bossing Kaname and Zero around should our dreams for a happy threesome happen! :D Oops, there I go again…!

I guess it was a darned good thing this happened after Yuuki reawakened to her pureblood self – the old Yuuki might not have been able to help quite as much here with Kaname’s injury! *another feeble chuckle*

Ah, so she knows what Kaname needs. Another thing that made me smile was how used she was to exposing her neck because of all the times she had helped Zero, that was very sweet *sighs* And LOL, I just had to giggle at this bit – didn’t I say Yuuki was lucky, even if one of those overly protective and stubborn males is a mite confused about his feelings for her, now that she’s changed?

Well, I bet that if Kaname saw Zero biting Yuuki he was sure to have seen that kiss as well. But it was such a bittersweet kiss and there was such a sad finality about it, how could he have minded? *sniffles* At least he knows that Yuuki finally (LOL) caught on to Zero’s feelings for her, something that Kaname himself knew much, much earlier on. Agree it was tough knowing she’d hurt Zero without wanting to, damn, why can’t they end up a happy threesome? *sobs*

Mm, that was a light but very sweet blood sharing! Of course Kaname would take anymore than a little… but I have to wonder now if Yuuki will yearn for Zero’s bite now that she’s turned *sighs* Guess only Matsuri-sensei will know!

It’s really nice to see Yuuki taking care of Kaname for once… canonically, I mean *grins as she remembers the other times Yuuki had cared for Kaname in other AU stories, like the time Zero helped both of them escape from Ichijo’s mansion* She sounds really grown up here, as is evidenced by the last two manga chapters. Taking care of Kaname and taking care of Zero (in a way).
But I still want that happy threesome! *wails*

I mean, a happy KanamexZero/ZeroxKaname ending would be perfect but, well… under the circumstances, I wouldn’t mind a happy threesome :D

¡Hola! How happy you made me with this fic. It's about my favored pairing (today) and deals with many issues that I try to explore too in my fic, as the contrast between innocence/maturity, power/vulnerability, lover/brother. The angsty and romantic possibilities of this couple are so big that I don't understand why I have found so few fics about them!!

I liked specially the portrayal of the new Yuuki, which is more or less how I imagine her too: with a new understanding of the world, more confident and less shy to approach Kaname. And the way she understands all the suffering of her brother, trying always to hide his feelings and be invulnerable just to protect her.

Yeah, I agree with your image of an injured and vulnerable Kaname, after the drawings in chapter 47 in which he seems to be hugging himself. I want to think that some mesure of this "weakness" is not only physical but emotional as well: he has recovered her sister after 10 years, that could cause an incredible adrenaline drop, sort of "yeah, finally".

It was very interesting the fact that he did not hate Zero, surprising as it may be. He had only used him because he didn't have any other options *That gaves me a lot of plot bunnies about Kaname trying to help Zero back to sanity. Maybe because I can't bear a sad destiny for out beloved prefect ;-)*

Yes, I would take some time to Kaname to learn that he can be "weak" in front of yuuki. She would never despise him for that, but for now I think it's a very realistic reaction!.
"leaning into her gentle touch automatically, like a plant long kept in darkness leaning yearningly towards sunlight", that was so tender... Yes, Yuuki is his sun. It's always been like that.
"Yuki wondered with fond resignation why she was cursed with so many incredibly stubborn and ridiculously over protective men in her life". *ROFTL* Zero and kaname can be very similar!! I was expecting Matsuri Hino would draw some blood drinking scene, 'cause Kaname's injuries looked really bad, so you made me happy *wide grin*.

Angsty possibilities! Of course, Kaname would have smelled her blood when Zero take from her *wonders too if he saw that kiss*

"How unworthy he unintentionally made her feel. How touched and yet almost frightened that his happiness depended so heavily upon her." Another angsty issue that I inmagined too!! Too many responsabilities at a time for Yuuki, and this could be the heaviest one!!

I loved the "I feel I'm coming home" feeling of the blood drinking, but I always tend to imagine those scenes more...sensual *blames her dark and twisted brain*.

*melts at Kaname sleeping in the seat while Yuuki drives, although I'm not sure if there's any country in the world in which you can have a driving license at 15*.

"It was her turn now, to try to be what others needed". A very Yuuki's thought for its lack of maturity: you can't be what others want. You can help them with their burdens, but you have to be yourself or you will disapear.
