It's been many years since I've been able to watch FK: Father Figure, but I could have sworn in the flashback scene that it was Los Angelas that Nick went to to get away from LaCroix. Nick was referred to a crime boss by Janette, and the crime boss gave Nick a new i.d. All for naught, as LC made Janette tell him where he'd gone and LC made a deal with the crime boss. Am pretty sure it was a 1930's hotel in L.A. that we see LC accost a frightened Nick at.

A pity you've already pegged the damphir as a female called Daphne. Considering this is already a crossover of FK and Angel, it would have been mega cool if the damphir assassin had been Vampire Hunter D. :)
