A great story. Very good.

Very nice. You did a good job exploring the idea of a 'soulful' robot. (aside: have you read some of NetRaptor's more recent stuff with Mecha Sonic discovering his soul?) And I suggest leaving it as a one-shot; if it's continued, it really lends itself to a series of scenes like this. The movie itself really leaves a lot of room for fanfic writers to explore the various back stories of the characters and situations.
