Interesting, of course, that you wrote this in January, and that by the end of this last season, some semblance of a peace *has* been formed between Jack and his daughter.

Anyways, I like the tense, abrupt style of your writing, and this:

"She didn’t die. I did."

is awesome. Great job.

Hey, this was an awesome story! I loved the dialogue. It definitely held my interest the whole way through.

Well done. What I like about this story is that it's just a brief encounter between two awesome characters. I like how you portrayed both characters. Jack's still a lost soul while McClane is at peace. The length worked to your advantage as well. It wasn't long, but not too short either. They didn't say much to each other, and yet they said a lot. Again, well done.

“What do you do, Jack?”

“I’m—in between jobs right now.”
