Molloy 2009-02-10 . chapter 1Although I initially missed the film reference (last movie I saw in the theater was "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" in 2001 -- honestly, nothing has come to the cineplex since then that has seemed as worthwhile), I definitely appreciated this little tale. And I was glad to see the warning at its close--I was concerned about the same thing as far as Kim and Ron were concerned but then remembered her motto. Duh. Very pleased to find out Rufus is safe, too.
I was actually thinking of a similar sitch with a reference to the film "Hot Fuzz." Kim and Ron run from the forum at top speed to the Sloth. "I'll drive, KP!" Ron yells and Kim calls for the shotgun seat. As soon as her BFBF cranks the motor and she slams her seatbelt into the buckle, she cries, "RON, PUNCH ... THAT ... SH_ _!"
Of course, this only delays their escape from the mayhem since her statement produces a double-take from Ron and a sheepish apology from her before they can speed off into the sunset.
BTW - Thanks to UltimateNacoTopping for his wise counsel in the writing this review. |
Aero Tendo 2009-02-05 . chapter 1Ok, that is SO an Indiana Jones joke. Still, given what happens during the fannie awards... I don't blame them. After all, everyone wants their moment in the sun. :) Heck, even I want to be in mentioned every so often but I know it is hard to go up against cool ones like MrDrP and others who radiate the KP universe as if they were the tv series. :) So anyway, I sure hope Kim and Ron get their shine on before they run out of air. ;) |
Muzzlehatch 2009-02-04 . chapter 1Gee, I hope they can breathe in there. |
Thomas Linquist 2009-02-04 . chapter 1And once more we play our dangerous game...
Sorry, wrong movie!
Anyway, I guess sometimes we need to have the characters we are writing about give us a little perspective. Thanks for voicing it. |
bigherb81 2009-02-04 . chapter 1Ah the plot hole the savior of many a hero from print to prime time. Nice story you can always expect a bit of animosity during awards time. It just goes to a whole nother level when short tempers and doomsday weapons are involved. Funny stuff great job. |
rye.bread 2009-02-03 . chapter 1(grins & chuckles) Dude--you are so whack. Definitely helps to be in the Never-Be-Normal demographic, both to orchestrate and appreciate this little bit of weirdness. Alas, I missed the last Indy Jones flick--I assume that's what the fridge allusion is all about. I will take it upon myself to add the disclaimer that the fridge Kim and Ron crawled into is the kind they can open from the inside--so they don't smother (like I said--haven't seen the cinematic scene that is being referred to--yet)
& of course, nothing but admiration for a natural born stumblebum like him who is blessed enough to rate a lifemate like her
I don't know which I like more in your stories--the satire or the 'shippiness
laughter & warm romantic fuzzies--a can't lose combination. |
Danny-171984 2009-02-03 . chapter 1I wouldn't care going to a black hole if I had to do that with my Badical GF :D
Keep on writing.

Shrike176 2009-02-03 . chapter 1Fun story, hope you don't really mean the awards should be canceled. Mud slinging is inappropriate, but it's a sad fact of democracy. Several stories I consider abysmal did make it to the final round, but we all have different tastes, I don't see a point in complaining about it on the forum.
I like the idea of a vote system to honor well liked stories of the previous year. Shame I had to learn about it the year started experiencing technical difficulties. The Fannies also got me to look at the forums for the first time, glad I did.
Congratulations on the nominations, hope 1919 wins; and not just because I hope it will get you to start the long awaited (at least by me) sequel. :) |
daccu65 2009-02-03 . chapter 1Well put, MrDrP. I really appreciate the effort some of my fellow amateur writers are putting in, with no compensation, to put on these awards. With any luck, the fannies will survive the oncoming explosion, and give us another year of enjoyment.

Captain IT 2009-02-03 . chapter 1Sounds like Kim and Ron are playing one of my favorite refrigerator games... a bit of " Whip and Chill"
Keep it KP real

Joe Stoppinghem 2009-02-03 . chapter 1All I can say is:
O, A SHINY BUTTON!
I Wonder what it does!
Hopefully things will settle down over there.
Thanks and good luck on your entries.
I don't have any :(

Katsumara 2009-02-03 . chapter 1Hahaha! Great drabble, MrDrP. I hope Ron doesn't get sent into a Black Hole! |
sweetPixiesmile 2009-02-03 . chapter 1Did that happen last year too?
Anyway, hilarious especially given the forums stuff.
I'm assuming Rufus simply hopped into his spacecraft and took the closet plot hole to escape and conveniently reappear at the next most dramatic twist. |
