rohemian-rider 2009-06-30 . chapter 6this is a good story so far i hope you keep it up, I'm really enjoying it so far:)
P.S. that was clever the part were you said every time it rained, the sounds were just washed away by the raindrops |
RipredIsAwesome 2009-04-29 . chapter 6I enjoy this story. Its sort of spin on the classic LoZ look. And the Mario/Link friendship's nice too. I think they'd really be friends because of what they do. I'll keep looking for the next chappy! |
 Cylon One 2009-03-12 . chapter 5Whew.
That was a close one for Link and Mario.
Glad they got out of that fix they were in thanks to Yoshi and Saria.
It’s way too early in the game for a game over for them.
It didn’t sound like Saria was carrying around Mario’s and Link’s breakfast when she went to look for them after waking up.
If she did, I can imagine Yoshi eating it up after she puts it down to go find them after Yoshi manages to tell her where they went and with whom.
I thought it was funny when Saria slid into the throne room to get the king’s help after seeing the serious situation her friends were in.
I imagined an umpire stepping up to her after her slide and yelling safe.
Then he leaves after realizing he’s not at Yankee Stadium. (Random pick of stadium.)
He’s mumbling in embarrassment about ending up in the wrong game world when he was trying to get to a ball game in a baseball game world.
Turns out he ended up taking the wrong warp zone.
The royal treatment our heroes got after being rescued and before getting down to business on rescuing Princess Zelda sounded nice.
And how fortuitous Mushroom Kingdom recipes were able to be looked up to prepare to prepare meals of the sort for them.
And all that delicious sounding fruit for Yoshi.
Very interesting the clue which is the address on Princess Zelda’s S.O.S letter of where she is.
A clue to Link’s origin.
‘Cause it’s the same as on the package that he was mailed within to Mushroom Island.
Except for the bad writing.
Sure do hope to learn more along with Link and Mario.
I can’t believe they’re gonna have to got to Mewtwo’s place to rescue Zelda.
As well as the other children being held there.
I mean, Mewtwo’s one of the most powerful physic Pokémon out there.
Maybe our heroes will be able to find some strong dark or ghost Pokémon to help them.
Ones that are not evil.
I wish Mario and Link and Yoshi well on their rescue mission journey.
I look forward to next time. |
Cylon One 2009-03-09 . chapter 4I can’t believe how much red tape there was just for the king to be told that someone wishes to see him.
And it didn’t even get to him.
Stopping at that jerk of a head minister, Agahnim.
And then him and those two ministers with him hitting Link and Mario with all that other red tape.
Even with the heroes’ very existence being official or not.
Unbelievable.
Great battle of Link and Mario against Onox. Think they would’ve earned a bit in rupees and whatever for beating him?
Too bad they ended up trapped by magic after it.
And then have a Hylian squad enter the room.
Hope Link and Mario can get out of this fix next time. |
Cylon One 2009-03-09 . chapter 3Welcome to Hyrule, Link, Mario and Yoshi.
Or should I say welcome home for Link out of them?
Even if he doesn’t know it yet.
Let the game of this game-land begin.
I didn’t know the boat our heroic trio used to travel had a cabin.
I thought it was a small open sailboat without something like a cabin.
Were the games played within it on some console?
You know what I thought when Mario said Hyrule was a bigger country than Mushroom Island?
It was, “Well, duh!”
I mean, I got that after all I’ve heard before now.
And how cool was it that Hyrule was on the map of Mario’s?
Very cool.
I wonder how many other game-lands are on a map in this world.
I thought it was something with Mario and Link hoping to get work as plumbers in Hyrule.
Link with plumbing skills is something I never imagined before.
Not saying he can’t learn ‘em and make good use of them.
I can just imagine Link using plumbing tools to work on a job and using something like a lengthy wrench out of them as a sword before getting a real one.
I liked how well the first meeting with Saria went and that our heroes learned of the predicament Princess Zelda’s in from her.
I wish I coulda sampled some of the food Saria brought our heroes.
They sounded delicious.
I knew Link, Mario and Yoshi would meet Zelda sooner or later, but I didn’t imagine they’d be meeting her during a rescue mission to save her from a kingdom of evil Pokémon.
I sure didn’t see that coming.
The kingdom of evil Pokémon part.
Can’t wait to see what that’s like.
The end of this is where we see Link praying to the three goddesses of Hyrule to watch over Princess Peach and to not let her worry.
That was sweet. |
Cylon One 2009-03-09 . chapter 2Great second chapter.
A very nice short telling of Link’s life from infant to young boy at the start of this.
Very cool and no surprise that Link wants to be like his best friend, Mario.
Think he’d want to grow a mustache like Mario’s one day?
I find it hard to picture.
How neat it was to have learned Princess Peach made the outfit Link is well known for wearing.
Think it was game dimension fate or destiny that made her create that familiar cap and tunic for Link before his return to Hyrule?
One thing I still can’t get over is how small the island is supposed to be where the Mushroom Kingdom is.
Small enough that an extra grown-up person would mean sending Yoshi off-island because the only place with enough space to put a house for said grown-up person is where the fruit trees that our favorite dinosaur eats from are.
That’s sad.
This is what leads Mario to decide to leave Mushroom Island with Yoshi.
And then Link joins them.
Now it’s off to Hyrule without them knowing it. |
Cylon One 2009-02-15 . chapter 1I love seeing what goes on in parallel universes of the Game Dimension.
And this one with Link as a baby ending up in the Mushroom Kingdom sounds really neat.
I just can’t get over that he got there by mail.
Thought it was cool of the mail being delivered by Pete the Pelican of Animal Crossing fame.
Whoever mailed Link must’ve left the wrapping paper loose enough for air to get through the air holes in those boxes.
Just glad he got to where he was sent okay.
I’d like to hear how he does being raised in the Mushroom Kingdom before whatever sends him on his way back to Hyrule.
Cool that Peach will do the raising like a mother.
Maybe Link’ll learn to jump as well as Mario and Luigi.
Will it be time soon for a well-known adventure to begin after Link returns to Hyrule?
Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
GAME START.
Oh, yeah.
I can’t believe how small a landmass it is that the Mushroom Kingdom is situated on.
You could make a claim to run around the whole island maybe
thirty times and likely pull it off.
Are there even koopas there? |
Jippers the Happy Squirrel 2009-02-08 . chapter 2Awe. ;3 This is suprisingly cute. I'm liking it so far...
but, uh, exactly how small is this island, by the way? Is Link, like, a freakin' giant or something? xD Oh well. I'm sure it was nessicary in order to set the plot into to motion.
keep up the fantastic work, |
anonymous 2009-02-07 . chapter 2 This is a very nice simple story and easy to follow. It is different than most of the stories on the site in a positive kind of way. I don't know what exactly, maybe because of the kind of fairytale feel.
Well done at capturing the moment of the departure! I found it quite sad. I don't know the book which your story is based on, so I don't think they return back to the island. :(
I'm really looking forward for the next chapters! :D
By the way, I am also wondering about the name of the addressee in the letter. Is it Shigeru Miyamoto? |
Blue Toad 2009-02-05 . chapter 1Right, I don't normally get to read a lot of fics, but this sounded interesting, so I clicked away. I certainly don't regret that. You do a good job of retaining the Mario spirit and everyone is so well in character...and I totally d'awed when the package turned out to be Link. It's very well written, but I especially love the ending. It was simple, but sweet. A job well done for your first chapter! |
Sweswe 2009-02-05 . chapter 1It was entertaining from beginning to end. I kept having this nice cuddly feeling through through the whole thing. You have not only made lovable portrayals of the characters involved this far but also created a nice setting.
I have never read "Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver" so I know not what to expect but I am sure that I will enjoy it. |
 lv1s 2009-02-05 . chapter 1prett good =) |
