i dont' think the turtles would ever not save one just cuz ti put the others at risk. what kinda family does that, especially one used to the idea of dying for each other? if you have to save one or two that's one thing, like picking a door. but not when the others aren't in danger. (at least, from what i could tell of 'canon', they're like that)

Dude...I think this story almost made me cry!! Do you know how hard that is?! Oh man I loved this! The moment between Don and Raph...they need more of those! I loved how you had them being closest because of their love of machines and the way you explained things about what they'd do for each other was interesting. Like if one was hurt and needed all three, as hard as it would, they'd have to pull back, but if all three needed one they'd do anything. Very interesting. Amazing job! LOVED THIS!

This is brilliant! Heartfelt, well-characterized, and the perfect gapfiller. I've had the same thought about that story arc myself; Donnie had to have known what was happening to him. And I'm so glad that someone with such fantastic writing skills took it upon themselves to fill in the blanks. I love the way you've depicted Raph. He's not a bad strategist when it comes down to it, and I love that he's chosen the middle of the night to bug Don with this question. Don's answer really got to me. It was something of a surprise, but the more he explained, the more it made sense. What an absolutely Don think to do.

And I love the way that you've included Mikey and Leo in the story. The mentions of Leo's nightmares (which Raph shares) was a brilliant touch, and I like the idea that even Mikey as the youngest feels protective of Don. It's a lovely bit of character work for everyone who isn't a direct part of the story. Wonderful all around! Thank you for such a lovely read!
