You write so well. I resisted reading The Middle Ground for the longest time (no offense) because a ShinoTen pairing seemed to me the arbitrary putting-together of the least-featured characters in Naruto, but your work is just awesome. That'll teach me not to judge a fanfic by its crack pairing. I hope you update soon.

Back to this story, which exemplifies the classic man vs. nature conflict, or maybe team Gai just being team Gai. Your characterization of Tenten is perfect, just by being who she is she cements the entire team together. Nice work!

Excellent depiction of Team Gai.
It wasn't over the top as they usually are portrayed in fanfics. The dialogues and the personalities are so on target. I loved Neji -- you got his stick-up-your-*ss arrogance exactly right. He and Tenten's long-suffering acceptance of their other two loud teammates -- Funny!
Loved the numbered poses and the descriptions!
Overall... an excellent oneshot! It's a fave. :o)

really really fun team dynamics...Gai and his obsessive overachievers. I like details in each of the movements to extend just a bit beyond their prior point.

The last sentence came out sounding more thoughtful than bored, and from the way he was carefully measuring her drawn line with his eyes as he crouched into his Gentle Fist stance, she knew he was more interested in the task than he would ever let on. It's all Gai-sensei's fault, she thought. He's turned us all into obsessive overachievers. Neji and I are just quieter about it.
