Awesome. I've never read a fanfiction from Harry's POV being that in character. This is an flawless depiction of his only with this monologue. You can read all his emotions, his thoughts, his pain and longing and even this horrible feeling of being empty, being drained out of his words. And how the reader can imagine Severus' reactions by just following Harry's train of thought.
It's truly an outstanding piece for a songfic. Dark, yes, but nonetheless heartwarming. Very well done!

By the way, I listened to Dead Can Dance's "In Exile" while reading - it made shivers run down my spine.

Brilliant, just bloody well brilliant. I love how you made Harry's monologue sound like Severus was replying. That was very, how to put this, relatable to? Yes, I think we all tend to think up how our deceased loved one's would reply to us if only to feel a little less lonely. It was also a very sentimental thing of you to do. I can't stress enough how much I love the fact that you refrained from sugar-coating this and kept it as it would have probably sounded in the real world, or as real as their world is. Oh, you know what I mean! You stayed true to their nature, their bickering, but also the endearments that lye behind the insults, or at least the endearments that we Severus/Harry fans wish were really there. The poem just served to make this hit home all the harder. I will admit that I may have shed a few tears, but I don't think anyone can really blame me, especially if they have read this. If anything, I do believe their response would be, "Pass the tissues, please?" Haha. Oh well, this was a very enjoyable piece to read and I just wanted to thank you very much for sharing. ^_^

I didn't pick up on it until the very last line, and that made the whole story awesome. Very possible, in-character, and reasonable setting. I loved the way your told the story from Harry's monologue. But it was as if Severus was replying between the lines, only that couldn't see it. It all made sense at the end. I greatly enjoy it. This one was beautiful.

Very interesting, and...and it's possible. It's likely that Harry will never think anything exciting happens to him once the war is over, and will have no trouble understanding someone who never knew peace--or thinking he does, anyway.

Lovely, and very touching. You lead me completely wrong, so the end was really surprising, but your short tale is even more intense like this, and gets another, very deep component, too. The Songfic parts fit well, though I have to confess I don't generally like Songfics ;o).
