Story premise with a hearing impaired person. I liked that idea. Her translater was a pain though. Did you on purpose give him the same first name as Captain Archer? I know it is common but I found that a bit confusing. I don't want to sound mean but when he died I was kind of relieved because then she could live her life her way and I would not get too confused at which Jonathan was talking.

My husband is blind so I have to say that made me appreciate a disabled person story.

This story is a lot of fun! I love the way you've had Amber transition over to hearing. Just one small little thing thats bothering me, so please don't take it personally... Amber's been on board for what, a month? Maybe not that long? And the Commander of starship feels strongly enough about an ensign to be dating her? Major protocol breach. But this isn't real military so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Excelleent read. Cannot wait for the next instalment. It actually reminds me of my childhood, as I was born deaf and then started to hear when I was 4 years old, so a very big thank you for helping relive my past.

I'm sorry, but I have to say that this is such a Mary Sue! The premise was interesting, but now it has totally degenerated into another "author-vaguely-disguises-herself-as-a-character-in-order-to-hook-herself-up-with-a-cute-main-character" fic.

Ahhhh! Cliffhanger! I just started reading your story and it's really good. In a way I can identify with Amber, because I am a diabetic and people get so overprotective like John. People who know nothing boss you around and tell you what to do like they know everything and you don't. It can be really frustrating. I really like your story though and I hope you hurry and write the next chapter!
