"All of Severus’ old, hard instincts screamed, together: it’s a trick."

Straight to the heart of character motivations and fear, aren't you?

I would love to see another piece like this further in the future. The last line had so much potential- I could see Peter taking Sev's advice, Peter rejecting everything Sev says out of fear, even peter trying to assert authority and being so bad at it that the experience emotionally scars him.

<3 gotta love a piece of writing that makes me want so much for it to continue.

Gosh, I love this series, because I really like the chance to crawl into Severus's mind--well, okay, that sounds a little gross, but you know what I mean! Especially those two (Peter and Severus) together--it'd be interesting to see if they'd have any change on each other. Especially the ending--hmm, I don't know. I kind of hate reading about James past all the revelations about him in the later books. He's such an easy person to hate, it almost seems unfair. Anyway, I loved the story--the glimpses into a different world for Snape.

What did James do to Peter, put a House Elf Charm on him? And yes, it does make sense that Peter is envious of Snape for being so independent.

Interesting story.
