Really good, I liked it, I liked the different tone and pace of this, and the emotions explored. One of the things I really like about your writing is how you get so well into the characters' heads and write from the inside looking out, as it were. I really got all the conflict, and the dichotomy of the 'break'. Loved the descriptions of Jules as Sam sees her, and how she is dictating the terms, but he is happy with that. These were excellent lines, great rhythm and balance, 'She knew what he wanted, knew what to give him to keep him with her, knew when to rein him closer and when to let him loose.

He hated being so out of control. He loved being with someone so aware of what he wanted.' But maybe not so good with games being played. I like how the gentle tap on his shoulder brings him back to reality. Also, I love your dialgoeu, and the back and forth conflict and attempts at resolution. It's always very natural, never forced. I loved the last line, and the acknowledgement of what is good and wh can be good.
