I'm not a Truman fan either, but go read unoriginal elizabeth's "The Truman Show" and you will understand him a lot better. It helped me be more objective about him.

I love your explanation of the Demily relationship. That's what I see happening, too.

Now, on to the fic:

I loved Emily-as-matchmaker, and how Dasey became friends first. I loved the whole "history" theme, too. It worked really well for this! And the whole ending was perfect!

I think you did a fine job keeping them in character - my feeling is, whenever Derek is in his "declaring his love for Casey" mode, he's automatically OOC, in anyone's fic, because we've never seen him that vulnerable before (We get a few clues from Sally, but he didn't love her nearly as much). So I think everyone was in character as much as they could be! Great oneshot!!

Hooray! I've been wondering when I'd "hear" from you again. You did a great job with this. No, I didn't feel that anyone was OOC--Casey would be freaking out about "history," Emily would be buttinsky, and Derek--well, I guess he grew up. It's about time. But college does change people, I hear.

This was so adorable! You always write the cutest Dasey. I'm sure your friend won't be disappointed. I loved the addition of Summer Daye. That's such a cute name! And I don't think any of the characters were OOC.

Nicely written. I think you captured the character's personalities just fine, the only thing that seemed off to me was the fact that Derek made no jokes of any sort towards Casey. Even when he comforts her as she cries, Derek always say something funny about him not doing tears very well.

I really didn't think anyone was out of character. I mean, you got them down pretty well! It is a fanfiction, so they aren't going to be perfect, but I thought you did a near-flawless job! Good work! I'm going to have to read some of your other stories now!
