  K 3/3/09 . chapter 1 First of all, female vampires are not able to have kids. It's like the ultimate birth control. It would be kind of cool to see a mutant vampire-werewolf baby from Nessie(who is probably able to have babies, with the half-human part) and Jake, but that's obviously a bit into the future.
Second of all, Edward joined Carlisle Cullen before Esme (I'm pretty sure - I haven't read it in a while). So, going by that logic, wouldn't your OC have met Edward when she was given to Carlisle (assuming he wasn't still going through that rebel stage of his).
Third of all, the infidelity of your Emmett and Charlie kind of shocks me. I read the entire quartet under the conception that charlie was still in love with Renee (though it would be kind of nice if he was able to move on). As for Emmett, I always thought he was completely devoted to Rosalie. She saved his life (basically).
Finally, I don't think people think about their looks this much. For example, I have no idea how tall I am, or how much I weigh right now. I'm aware that I need to exercise sometime soon, but otherwise I don't think "Oh, I'm five-four, and 130 lbs." A better way of dealing with appearances would be to use the mirror tactic - having your character analyze herself in front of a mirror.
