This is a very good tribute. It's hard to pull off flashbacks every other line without making the story feel disjointed, but the rhythm of this was great. And I really liked the first italics section, especially the part when it cut off "killed", and the lower cased "but". The second section gave me warm fuzzies. :) And... about the purpose of the fic, I peeked at the other reviews and was shocked to realize HB passed away. That's so extremely horrible. Even just by over the internet, I could see she was so great. So I found out by your fic. It's really sobering, but I'm glad I know now, anyway.

This is a delicate and touching story, just taken as Kenshin's memory of Tomoe. It is also a poignant memorial to someone who gave so much to the RK community. Thank you for posting this.

That was lovely. And I would be upset if anyone complained about you "ripping off" anyone. This is in memorium for a wonderful person. There can't be too many such works created. I'm considering doing some art for her, and though Conspirator inspired the idea for me, I wouldn't consider myself "ripping off" anyone either. *shrugs* But that's my opinion. Remembering someone and being inspired by people is different than just stealing ideas. You didn't steal ideas. You remembered someone who deserves remembering.

Sorry about that rant, but I had to voice that. On another note, I love how you switch back and forth between the two time periods. My only complaits were technical little things (punctuation and capitalization...) but the actual story was very good, and very peaceful.

That's a great tribute to the late Hakubaikou, who shall be sorely missed by the RK fandom.

I think there is room enough for many commemoratives for a generous fan author and artist.

Would that we could all write such nice tributes. Don't demean it, yourself, or the rest of us, please.

This was a great tribute to HB--Tomoe was her favorite character, and some of her best art was of Kenshin and Tomoe together. And if anyone dares claim you "ripped off Conspirator," then they don't know the meaning of heartfealt tribute. What better way to honor HB's memory than to write, and to write so beautifully. She always claimed she wasn't a writer, but to me she was one of the greats.

I don't think you should compare yourself to Conspirator. Actually, you should probably take that part out because it sounds like you're trying to be competetitive, when all you're doing here is paying homage to a wonderful woman.

I think we all have the same idea in this regard, hon. And the story is beautiful.
