That's really well written. Especially the last line. In my opinion, it fits Shane's character better than any other stories I've read. (well, if Shane wasn't Disney-ified...) Seriously, I love how this conveys his despair and willingness to forget in just a few words. I can never seem to do that. Brilliantly done.
