I just want to let you know that this is my first and favorite Dan/Rorschach fanfiction. I remember when I was first getting into the pairing back in 2009 and cried endlessly over this story. It's amazing. It gives me so many feels and the writting is just... guh. I've read this fic over a dozen times since I found it but only now realized I'd never even told you how much I love it. It truely is amazing. Both parts of it. Just wow. I applaud you, friend.

Ho boy. I am so hurting for Rorschach and Dan-with their impossible situation and all- right now. Your one of the few writers on this site that actual understands Rorschach's feelings towards Daniel and the self-hate he holds towards himself because of it. It's one of those things that unless you REALLY study Watchmen you wouldn't otherwise find, and I'm glad you understand it enough to put it on paper (or in this case, my computer screen.) You are truly amazing at what you do. You also made me cry, so I hope your happy. 3 muchmuch love for this piece.

Incredibly moving and so very sad, and it honestly makes sense. It's believable and so broken that is what I love about it.

This story is absolutely wonderful, and not just because of how well written it is. Reading this, I could really believe that this is how Rorschach felt and how he tried to deal with it. It is amazing.

aww. this was so sad! when rorschach was punching..."mother wouldnt.." I wanted to cryy. it was perfect though. i dont think he would have told dan either, and as you said in the first chapter, i dont think dan could have figured it out for himself. really great job, i liked it soo much.

Brilliant work!

I don't give praise lightly, and I truly believe "flattery is the worst and falsest way of showing our esteem.” Therefore let me be bluntly honest with you-I don't know how you, or anyone else for that matter, can ever write a better Watchmen story than this. It's perfect-Rorschach and Dan Dreiburg are so achingly real that this seems like a vignette from the original that fell out of Alan Moore's pages on the way to Dave Gibbons' house. You found the exact situation to explore and picked the exact moments to start and end your story. It still would have been a good story had you gotten only one of the character's tone and voice correct, but instead you found the right pitch for both and elevated it to the next level of excellence. Rorschach as the classic self-hating gay man expressing his frustrations through violent self-discipline fell very neatly within the character's identity in the graphic novel-it actually sheds a little light on his vehement disgust for sexuality. Dan's honest befuddlement about Rorschach's sudden change and his well-meaning but awkward attempt to defend homosexuality was an excellent balance of naiveté and principle. It's absolutely brilliant-well done, and I do hope you will continue to write more Watchmen fics.
