Great idea doing this from the POV of an outsider. Your descriptions of the interactions between McQueen and Kirkwood were very vivid. I enjoyed reading this.

I wish the profic writers of the few S:AAB novels would have been so careful as to draw the characters.

This is a terific addition to the S:AaB "Moving Finger" universe. An intriguing point of view piece that stands well on its own. - One needn't know "Moving Finger" to understand or get into this piece - But then you would miss the bigger picture painted so beautifully in that novel. (Which, incidently is broken out into nice sized chapters - so it is easy to read a piece at a time).

Legends and Lies: An interesting new character, great continuity and a nice tight bit of writing.
