Meredith so wants to help Derek, share with him. It's incredibly moving to see how she gets him in this, in a way no one else does, not even Mark and he's known Derek most of his life.

You got me thinking when Meredith was putting Mark in his place. He, of all people, should have seen Derek was upset in the hospital, instead he was wrapped up in what he wanted. I can see how Derek would take that, it really is like Addison all over again for him.

My heart just bleeds for Derek. There is something inevitable to me about all of this, his fear of failure, the need to be the good guy, the one in control. It makes reading things like this, where everything he knows and takes strength from is ripped away, all the more poignant.

Well done on such a great fic.

very realistic chapter, I loved it and you really get the characters, I think that's why so many people appreciate your fics so much, you respect the characters Shonda created and doesn't to change them, which some authors do and at some point the readers can't recognize the Derek and Meredith they love in the show. I love these two characters and it's exactly the Mer and Der I love that I can find in your fic so thanks for sharing all this with us. I was a little frustrated last week when they only showed us 10 seconds of that scene. I expected more :)

hi, thanks for writing. I'm a little curious, in the last mer/der scene they were both drinking scotch or something similar (I thought) but here they are drinking tequila. Anyway it's always nice to see a story with a strong Mer.
