Good work!! So the demon never came and killed Jess? Was whatever they got messed up in to do with the demon? If Dean's alive is John really dead? How did Dean survive if everyone's so sure he's dead?

Good start...I think it might be better for awhile to have it be from Sam POV, have the mystery of what happened to Dean unfolded for both the reader and Sam...IMHO

Ah I knew this was coming, but it doesn't make the scene any heartbreaking! Poor Bobby and Sam. -hugs them both- You'll see Dean soon, have faith.

I wonder what thing it was that John and Dean were fighting though. Demons? Or might it be something in the dark-hunter universe? Real life has been hectic so I haven't been able to read the series yet. Top on my to-do list though.

I can see why you're having a dilemma on which POV to start from, I can't choose too! I'll probably pick Sam's, his POV is very similar to that of the readers' right now, since both him and us have absolutely no idea what's going on. We'll be able to learn together with him what happened to Dean and John. And his reaction on seeing an alive Dean (we will right? next chapter? pretty pretty please?) will be priceless, I'd love to read that. That said, it's your choice. I miss Dean so I won't mind seeing his POV too!

Oh btw, I read your profile. You're a fan of Kelley Armstrong too! I love her 'women of the otherworld' series, but nobody I know read it too. Jaime and Jeremy are my favourite characters =) Her next book is in Elena's pov! Gosh can't wait. And she recently released a new book: "Men of the Otherworld", it's full of Clay and Jeremy goodness. -snuggles book-

Ouch! That seems worse than the fight in canon. SO how does Sam end up thinking Dean's dead?
