Whoa! Have never heard of Guardian, but this is such a cool little story! The writing's great- you pull off the from-the-kid's-perspective thing beautifully (could find nothing cringeworthy... wow. so unusual on this site!), and the scene between the mother and Silas is so sweet. Must now google Guardian.
