as always, this was a wonderful story. tragic, but wonderful. i think you did a brialliant job of expressing ennis' strength & love for jack overcoming his fear & reserve. it was very natural
transition, under the circumstances and, to me at least, felt seamlessly fluid.

I had much the same feelings reading this as I di the original story of Jack and Ennis. I felt the happiness for them being together...finally. But then, there was that punch to the gut with the accident and Bobby's death. I'm glad you made Lureen to be a caring and loving, but also understanding person when it came to giving Jack his freedom and setting him up for life. And I shed tears over Bobby's funeral with just two in attendance. I've always felt that Bobby and Jack had a good relationship, as shown briefly in the movie with Jack teaching Bobby to drive the big farm machine. I like the part about Jack being Ennis' step-brother, too. It gives Ennis an ease to be able to live with Jack. You have spun a wonderful story, as always. And if you get a hankering to continue the story of the Del Mar/Twist brothers, I will be most happy to see it. If not, just know that this story stands well on its own. I loved it!!
