Poor Nellie! At least she has a friend in Charles. I've never really been found of Charles, but since reading this I think he's grown on me. Keep up the wonderful work! I love reading all of these Ma*A*S*H stories!

I like that practical, far-thinking Nellie was thinking first of the future and the complications inherent in it. I'm a little iffy on the making out while she's still got tubes and things stuck in her and is recovering from major surgery - I suspect that's not doctor-recommended. I very much like Danny's story, that it isn't so much a tale of heroism as it is a stark tale of a boy caught in a nightmare who chose to escape from it.

From utter doom to a cautious optimism! I very much liked Charles turning Hawkeye's reaction to Radar's accident back around to him, and even more liked Hawkeye letting him do it. That was unexpected and very true to both men's characters.

Dire circumstances indeed. Although I can think of no one I'd rather have by my side in such an extremity than Father Mulcahy - Nellie's lucky he was there. It sounds like the injury may just have provoked the catharsis she needed.

Absolutely beautiful! This is why I love your story, it really does tug at your heart, and there really aren't too many that do it well here. I do hope you continue! Much love!
