Based on the true characters, this does not fly. Jasper would never drink, especially alcohol. And Alice loves him too much to stay away for 5-years, and would always know where he is with her vision.

I think you need to change your characters away from these borrowed characters, and develop their own personalities, and add in the character feel you get from listening to Shinedown. Their song provokes strong images and characters.
